Record Five Women’s Golfers Named WGCA All-American Scholars CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A program-record five High Point University women’s golfers were named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team on Monday. Of 1,497 women’s golfers honored from 412 programs, High Point had the most student-athletes recognized since 2008 as Maddie HensleyDanielle SuhAna-Elena KustersElla Perna and Anna Howerton all earned the prestigious honor. The criteria to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continues to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements. To be selected, a student-athlete must: A transfer from Eastern Kentucky, Hensley earned her fourth All-American Scholar honor as she graduated with her Master of Business Administration from HPU. Suh, a four-year letter winner for the Panthers, was honored with her third All-American Scholar accolade after obtaining her business administration degree this past May. Kusters, a junior majoring in neuroscience, earned her second straight WGCA All-American honor. High Point had two awarded WGCA All-American Scholars for the first time as Perna, a sophomore majoring in health and wellness and Howerton, a freshman majoring in exercise science, joined the prestigious list of honorees.
